for my old bikes under 750 i used to pay $240 yearly...with the 1200 (which is classified as a 'sport' bike and therefore not insurable by everyone) its $350 thats plpd, theft and accident have a lot to do with the value of your bike.

When I took my course back like 7-8 years ago, there was a guy taking the course, an older man that had been riding for 25 years without a motorcycle license .... I highly doubt that but he did ride a gold wing, so may never have been pulled over or had a good excuse :p .... wonder how he got around insurance
:p

I used to pay $140 for 6 months pl/pd on a 750 25 years ago. My sabre was $325 for a year, so it hasn't changed drastically in that period. Then again I am more "mature" now..........

I am with Stevens and Smith in Dartmouth and I just added the new steed I purchassed from Berwick (an 1100 Sabre) and it was the same price as my KZ1000 $262.00 a year for pl/pd and they tell me it will be the same for any bike over 750 cc.

it all sounds cheap to me-
in ontario you pay roughly a dollar/cc just for liability-so a gsxr1000 would cost 1000/yr. for liability only-but full coverage is only around 300 more/yr.

I let my insurance expire and went to renew it yesterday. they no longer have the coverage i was under (500,000). so instead of paying 242 as i should have i had to open a new claim and it went up to 316. terrible! i'll never let it expire again
