Anyone out yet?

The itch to get out was just too much to handle.. so I put on the gear and headed out for a spin
on Sunday... The roads were pretty good down my way other than some melt off running across the road..
I only drove about 40kms total but it was nice to get out.... but it sucked to have to wash it after such a short run..

Your last line sums up why I didn;t head out, that and the piles of salt dust.

According to the weather rain is in the forecast for the next two or three days, if so the roads should be clear of salt and eliminate those wet run offs from driveway snow banks. if this all goes well I'm ready to feel the wind in my face.

I was hoping to get out on sunday myself but they ended up salting the roads
here due to a lot of late night black ice.. so it wasn't worth trying....

Same road conditions in my neck of the woods, needless to say I was quite disappointed. :-(

I think they put more salt down last for the dry roads then they did all winter. There were piles at every intersection this morning. Now we need a couple more good rains to clean things up.

It's more sand down our way (the 333). The centre of the road looks like a sandbox. I can see losing it real quick on some of those tight turns.

We should see some rain tonight, radar shows it coming this way at least for now, If the temps stay up maybe they won't salt/sand tomorrow. We might have traction, WooHoo.
Did see a couple bikes out today though they got a little sand storm in the face when a truck went buy in the opposite direction. Some people just don't think things through.

LOL As well as being hard on the eyes your ride takes quite a beating as well. Lever hinges, cables, throttle bearings, shocks, switches, kickstands, brake and shift linkages to name a few areas that fine sand loves to get into and cause unforeseen problems down the road.

Did you get snowed on? We had a short squall come up the harbour, whitened things up for about ten minutes.
